This new release sounds rather interesting; anyone have any more info on it/sound clips somewhere? Artist: PILOTE Title: Tonic Label: CERTIFICATE 18 (UK) Format: 12" Catalog Number: CERT 1834 "Brighton based Stuart Cullen aka 'Pilote' releases his fourth musical outing on Certificate 18's Electronic Projects. Previously recording on Curor Records in Brighton and Domino's Series 500 label. Influenced by almost every style of music and self-taught on guitar and keyboards, Pilote creates a lo-fi sound devoid of dancefloor sensibilities. Comparable only to the Boards of Canada LP, this three track 12" offers possibly the most mystical, captivating, cinematic style electronica heard for quite sometime." Nice-enough record that lives up to the description; nothing to do with Cert 18's traditional d&b output. nickrejack

cut up acoustic drums with some nice ambiento euromelodies. if any kirk degiorgio fans were wondering when someone else was going to start doing stuff like his, this is it, albeit while hanging with the downbeat breaks clique. it's quite a bit more dynamic and cleanly produced than the boards stuff i've heard. the certificate 18 electronic projects seem to be plumbing an "electronics with bongos" vein. eric onnow: ryoji ikeda : +/- (touch) On Thu, 19 Aug 1999, Nick Rejack wrote:
